My Favorite Place: Camp Sequassen
Camp Sequassen is located in Northwestern Connecticut in the hills near New Hartford. The entire place is a wonderful area with tall pine trees, a clear blue waterfront, with tones of footpaths and open areas. I used to go every year for Boy Scouts, and as part of Troop 63 our campsite was always at the very top of the hill. Now being on top of the hill sounds fun until you find out every single activity and even the cafeteria is down the hill, under the roadway, and across a river. however there were some of the more hazardous Merit Badges on the mountain like Archery, Rifle/shotgun or rock-climbing badges.

The entire place was surrounded by the smell of pine and it was so enormous you could always get lost so you needed a partner. The walks though were very peaceful and combined with the storms and sights you’d experience was like nothing else. The same goes for when you’d be attacked by the mosquitos or when it randomly decides to hale 2 days before the 4th of July. I will never forget my youth being at Camp Sequassen mainly due to how I’ve been there for 8 years of my life but, to the experiences with friends and family and with the Boy Scouts of America, it has been and will continue to be one of my favorite place on earth.
